For parents

What is SATS LION?

A KS2 SATS revision app for Year 6 that turns spelling, punctuation and grammar into a daily ten-minute quest. Leo the Lion coaches, the questions adapt to your child, and progress is tracked in plain English for you.

Who is it for?

It's built for Year 6 (ages 10 to 11) preparing for the KS2 SPaG test in England. The content maps to the Year 5 to 6 statutory requirements, so it suits children working toward, at, or above the expected standard.

How much time does it take each day?

About ten minutes. Sessions are short on purpose: a daily habit beats an occasional marathon, and ten focused minutes is enough to keep a streak and steadily close gaps.

What does it cost?

Every plan starts with a free trial and there's no card needed to begin. Family plans start from a few pounds a month and cover up to three children. You can cancel any time, and there are never any ads.

Is my child's data safe?

Yes. We're built to the UK Children's Code and we're data-minimal by design: a learner profile carries no more than a first name and year group. We don't sell data and we don't run ad networks. The full detail is in our privacy policy.

What happens when my child gets stuck?

A wrong answer is where the learning is. Leo explains what the question was really testing and why the right answer is right, in plain Year 6 English, and the engine brings that idea back again soon so it sticks.

How do I see how they're doing?

Your parent view gives a strand-by-strand read on spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary, plus the few topics most worth practising next. No edu-jargon, just what to praise and what to revisit.

For schools

How do we try it with a class?

Book a free six-week pilot for your whole Year 6 cohort. You get the class dashboard and full question bank for the pilot, and the evidence to decide whether to roll it out further. No card, no commitment.

How are pupils set up?

Pupil logins are managed centrally by the school, so there are no parent app-store accounts, no forgotten passwords and no setup faff. A class can be up and running in well under ten minutes.

Is it curriculum-aligned?

Every question is written and human-reviewed against the KS2 English grammar, punctuation and spelling statutory framework, so practice stays inside what the test actually assesses.

What does the teacher dashboard show?

A whole-class view of every pupil across the four SPaG strands, so you can see at a glance who's on track, who to watch, and who needs help, and surface gaps before the mock does.

How is school data handled?

Built around UK GDPR and the Children's Code, with a Data Processing Agreement and DPIA for schools on request. A pupil holds only a first name and year group, and there are no ads or trackers. See our data protection page.

Can Pupil Premium funding be used?

Schools commonly fund targeted revision tools like this from Pupil Premium where it supports eligible pupils. Book a pilot and we'll talk through how it fits your cohort and budget.
